Terms
The rules of the road.
What we agree to, what you agree to, and what happens when things break. Written to be read by adults, not parsed by attorneys.
Effective May 22, 2026
1. The short version
Found is a US-only matchmaking service for adults who want a spouse. You agree to be honest in your profile, respectful in your interactions, and serious about what this service is for. We agree to vet members carefully, protect your data, and operate the service with the brand and the boundaries described here. Either side can end the arrangement.
By signing up, you accept these terms. If any of them are unacceptable to you, Found is not the right service for you, and that is genuinely fine.
2. Eligibility
To create an account, you must meet all of the following:
- You are at least eighteen years old.
- You live in the United States.
- You are not currently married, in a civil union, or in a registered domestic partnership.
- You have not been previously removed from Found for a safety reason.
- You are either responding to an invitation we sent you, or you are signing up during an open enrollment period we have publicly opened.
We may verify any of these at any time. If we learn that you do not meet them, your account will be closed.
3. The service
Found introduces you to one other member at a time and gives you a private channel to communicate with them. Matches are made by a combination of an automated queue and human curation. There is no browse list. There is no swipe deck. There is no parallel conversation with anyone else while you have an active match.
Beyond matchmaking, Found will offer a separate surface (working name: Together) for couples who have decided to pursue each other in earnest. That surface is in development. When it launches, it will be governed by these terms as updated.
4. Your account
You may hold only one Found account at a time. The account is yours alone and may not be shared, sold, or transferred.
- The information in your profile must describe you, today, accurately. Old photos, fictional details, and stand-in answers are not allowed.
- You may not impersonate another person.
- You are responsible for keeping your login (the email account associated with Found) secure. Anyone with access to your email can sign in as you.
- You may not access your account on behalf of anyone else, including a friend, a relative, or a matchmaking agency.
5. Identity verification
Every member completes identity verification through a third-party identity provider before being approved. You agree that the verification provider may collect and process your government-issued ID and a selfie under their own privacy policy. We will not approve an account until verification completes successfully.
6. Acceptable use
While using Found, you agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, demean, or stalk another member.
- Use Found for any commercial purpose, including solicitation, advertising, recruitment, or fundraising.
- Share personal contact information (email, phone number, social-media handles, external links) inside the chat surface before both you and your match have signaled readiness to meet through the application. This protects both sides during the early stages of contact.
- Send sexually explicit photos or messages.
- Share another member’s information with anyone outside Found without their permission.
- Use Found to date casually, hook up, or otherwise engage in patterns inconsistent with the marriage-intent baseline of the service.
- Scrape, crawl, copy, or otherwise systematically download content from the service.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the operation of the service.
- Attempt to bypass any safety mechanism, including blocks, suspensions, or queue rules.
- Create a second account, or rejoin under a different email after being removed.
7. The one-at-a-time rule
A central feature of Found is that you are matched with one other member at a time. You agree not to attempt to circumvent this, including by:
- Asking us to assign you more than one match at once.
- Asking another member to introduce you to other members.
- Treating the chat as a parallel-conversation funnel by repeatedly releasing matches for trivial reasons.
Repeated patterns of bad-faith release may result in a pause on new matches while we talk it through with you.
8. Your content
Your profile, your photos, and the messages you send are yours. You keep ownership of them.
You grant Found a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and transmit your content for the purpose of operating the service: showing your profile to your match, delivering your messages, and storing the content so that you and the people authorized to see it can access it. This license ends when you delete the content or close your account, except where we are required to retain the content for legal or safety reasons (see the Privacy Policy for retention).
You confirm that the content you upload is yours to share and does not violate anyone else’s rights. Do not upload anyone else’s photos as your own, ever.
We will never use your profile content, your messages, or any other content you create on Found to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
9. Trust and safety
Found operates a real review queue, run by a real human. We may, at our discretion:
- Review your profile, your photos, your match history, and your messages when investigating a report.
- Remove or edit profile content that violates these terms.
- Pause your matches.
- Suspend your account temporarily.
- Terminate your account permanently.
- Prevent specific pairs of members from being matched again.
We will tell you the reason for any of these actions unless doing so would endanger another member or interfere with a legitimate investigation. If you believe an action was a mistake, you can reply to the notice and we will reconsider.
10. Fees
Found is free to use during the founding cohort. We do not charge per-message fees, we do not sell unlocks or boosts, and we do not offer paid tiers that change the matching mechanic.
When we introduce pricing, we will tell you in advance. Pricing will be symmetric: both sides pay the same. Founding members will be told about any inaugural terms that apply to them.
11. What Found is not
Found is not a therapy service. We are not licensed mental-health or marriage care providers, and we do not diagnose, treat, or substitute for professional care. When a situation calls for licensed help (including abuse, addiction, or mental-health crisis), we will say so plainly and refer you to providers who can actually help. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911.
Found is not a guarantee. We do not promise that you will meet someone, that any match will be a good fit, or that any introduction will lead to a relationship, marriage, or any other outcome. Compatibility is a human judgment that you make.
12. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, Found disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Other members are not screened to a standard greater than the verification and review described in these terms and the Privacy Policy. Use common sense when meeting someone in person for the first time: tell a friend where you are going, choose a public place, and trust your instincts.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Found and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms or your use of the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) one hundred US dollars.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. To the extent your jurisdiction is one of those, the limits in this section apply only to the maximum extent permitted by that jurisdiction.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify Found and its operators against claims brought by a third party that arise from your violation of these terms, your violation of applicable law, or your conduct toward another member.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that the two of us cannot resolve through ordinary correspondence will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Before filing a lawsuit, you agree to contact us at coltonje95@gmail.com and give us thirty days to resolve the issue informally.
16. Termination
You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We will remove your profile and your photos within thirty days, subject to the retention notes in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account for a violation of these terms, for a safety reason, or because we are no longer operating the service. We will give you notice and a reason where practical.
The sections of these terms that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) will survive.
17. Changes
We may update these terms when our practices change. Material changes will be announced by email to active members, and posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
18. Contact
Questions about these terms can go to coltonje95@gmail.com. We respond.
